I'm terribly behind in showing you what I've been doing, somehow it is more fun to knit than to blog... Anyhow, even though it is not much of a summer here right now, I thought I'd show you a nice summer knit, a lacy shrug. There is still a possibility that the summer might return.

It is called Tellina. Summer,
sea and sand all go together in my mind. In the sand you will often
find tiny shells. Tellina is a large family of shells, and a pretty
name for a shrug made in stripes of a simple shell lace.

The lace is easy to memorise. The construction is simple and completely seamless. Knit the middle, pick up along the sides for the back and the two sleeves. When the back is done, the sleeves are worked in the round (no seaming!) Finally add the garter stitch band around the front.

The yarn is worth noting. It is Twilley's Freedom Sincere, an organic cotton, really lovely to work with.
